Restaurant Employee Contracts Hepatitis A
A restaurant worker tested positive for Hepatitis A, a contagious virus that is transmitted by ingestion of infected food and water. Anyone that has been to the Red Robin restaurant between May 8-May 16 is at risk and needs to be vaccinated. A spokesman for the Greene County Health Department said that the management has been cooperative and all employees have been vaccinated.
All people who meet this criteria can get a free vaccination shot on Thursday from 11 am to 6 pm, although the exact location has not been set. The Health Department says if you have been in this establishment there is no immediate need to panic. There will be no risk if you wait until Thursday or another day this week to get the vaccination.
Some of the symptoms of Hepatitis A include nausea, fever, vomiting, and discolored urine.
