Recall Issued for 2014 Chevy Malibu
The latest announcement, after a stream of recalls from General Motors Company, came yesterday as they reported that more than 140,000 2014 Chevrolet Malibus would be recalled due to a software issue affecting the power brake system.
A detailed summary to the NHTSA reports that the problem was discovered as GM was testing the brakes on another model that has yet to be released, however has a similar braking system as the Malibu. The automaker discovered that a brake vacuum hose can become disconnected, which means the brakes take more force to apply and the vehicle takes a longer distance to stop.
GM plans on sending letters to affected customers by May 30 and will repair these issues at no cost to the vehicle owner.
With the seemingly endless announcement of recalls, it can be hard to keep up with the affected vehicles. The NHTSA keeps an updated page of vehicle recalls, and if you click on each one it gives detailed information including the problem and contact information on how to fix the vehicle.
